Multiple Sclerosis Research Initiative FundThe LVT(1) to LVT(5) were built from 1942. Altogether 18,620 LVTs were built during World War II. The engine drives the front track sprockets through a 5-speed gearbox and differential. The tracks are fitted with spoon-shaped scoops which provide propulsion in the water.

Variants: LVT(4): landing craft with rear hinged loading door. Powered by 7 Cylinder Continental Aircraft engine and propelled by the tracks both on land and in the water. Fitted with a 70mm Gun. Turret is open at top for access.
